About the MSF Procurement Program in Afghanistan

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent medical humanitarian movement that aims to deliver emergency medical care where it is needed most. MSF began working in Afghanistan in 1980 and currently has a strong focus on providing secondary healthcare in the country. MSF is legally registered with Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and maintains Host Country Agreement (HCA) between MSF and the Government of Afghanistan. MSF in cooperation with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) run medical projects in 8 (Balkh, Kunduz, Khost, Bamyan, Kabul, Helmand, Kandahar, Herat) provinces of the country focuses on emergency, pediatric, and maternal healthcare.

MSF-Afghanistan procures goods and services locally to meet our beneficiaries’ needs and ensure the effective running of its projects and supportive bases across the country.

Our suppliers play a vital role in our efforts to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. They enable us to deliver what our teams need, wherever needed and when they need it.
